Grand Hotel Mediterraneo FlorenceClients' CommentsThe Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is without doubt the best hotel I stayed in in Italy. I can’t understand why this is only a 3-star, the only thing 3 star about it was the price. Big enough that you can enjoy a certain air of anonimity yet the attentive staff never seem to forget about anybody or leave anybody out. The breakfast was surprisingly good but I’d recommend having it in the hall with everybody else rather than having it served in the room as that way you get to choose what you want. The only thing I’d suggest is maybe a cooked breakfast option. We thought that the hotel was further out than it actually is too – Florence is really small and when we realised that we could actually walk into the center that really was the icing on the cake! The staff couldn’t have been more genial and welcoming which was refreshing and positive. The room was nicely furnished and very clean and tidy. Very big for a three star hotel in Florence and very reasonably priced we felt. Couldn’t have asked for much more really and would definitely recommend. Theresa and Stuart, Middx. I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Mediterraneo to others and will look to stay here again should I return to Florence. For a three star hotel in Florence, the price appeared to be excellent value and the wonderful staff, lovely room and breakfast all added up to a more than satisfactory residence.
